Bim is a burger fiend. I can live on a diet of beef patties, buns, and sesame seeds alone. Throw in some mustard, some ketchup, and some pickles and onions and I’ve got myself a feast. I’ve eaten enough burgers in my day to have the gall to consider myself a connoisseur of sorts. I don’t necessarily favor one type of burger from a particular establishment, but I do have my preferences. From Jollibee, I’m actually a big fan of the Amazing Aloha for some reason. This is coming from a guy who thinks cooked pineapple is an affront to nature.
When Jollibee let me know that they were coming out with a new burger, launching it with a Thor: The Dark World theme, I was all ears. They sweetened the deal by giving patrons the option to buy a Mjolnir flash drive. To find out more about that, read it on GeekOut.
Let me introduce you to the Jollibee Cheesy Bacon Mushroom Champ.
Putting mushrooms and bacon and cheese into a burger isn’t exactly groundbreaking. In fact, Jollibee already brought it back in 2008, with their Cheesy Bacon Mushroom Burger. So, what makes it so special? Well, for one thing. It’s a Champ. It has that distinct Champ-tasting patty. You know what I’m talking about, right? That’s probably what makes the Amazing Aloha good. And again, because it’s a Champ, it has a hefty 1/3 pound, 100% beef patty.
We know what the patty tastes like, how about everything else?
Well, there’s the packaging. It looks fantastic! If you’re Thor fan, this is something you wouldn’t mind staring at while devouring some meat.
I haven’t had these fresh from the kitchen, so I’m not sure if the bacon is supposed to be served crispy but the one I had was a little chewy. I assume that when it’s freshly made, the bacon strips should be crispy, or at least not as chewy. The cheese, especially along with the bacon, was a little too salty for me. However, as I kept on nomming on, it kinda grew on me. I wasn’t minding the saltiness so much after a while. But I must say that the cheese-mushroom-bacon combination has been done better before.
On the plus side, though, the serving size is perfect for a big appetite like mine. Maybe I could slap a pineapple slice in there and make it into a Super Amazing Aloha or something. It definitely isn’t my favorite burger but it has its niche in the world of burgerhood.
If you want one, you can go ahead and grab one for Php129.00 for just the burger or Php165.00 for the Value Meal.
